Winter Catch Up

Sorry for being MIA. There was so much going on lately that my only spare minutes were taken up by the minimum iota of food and sleep.

Exams are over and forgotten and I therefore promise I will be a better Blogger starting now.

Let me try and fill you in on some of the latest happenings in my life. The last week(s) in December and the start of the new year were filled with some travelling, lots of food, crazy night-outs and most importantly endless hours of quality-time, fun & games with soul mates.

After spending Christmas in Vienna, the boy and I made our way to Munich to spend some time vegitating around the beautiful city…

For dinner we met up with the boys and ate at one of my favorite new discoveries: XII Apostel. It’s busy, buzzy & de-licious so check it out if you are in the city (reservations highly recommended).

My favorite dish: “Calzone Capriccio” (Inside-out pizza with tomato, mozarella, cooked ham & mushrooms)

Next, was a pit-stop in Munich’s new hotspot, a bar on the top floor terrace of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, overlooking the city skyline (when it comes to roof-tops I am a hopeless romantic).

Slightly hungover from one too many Glühwein’s, we made our way back to Vienna to reunite with my family.

I am not a great fan of New Year’s Eve as it’s full of expectation & ultimately tends to end up being a bit of an anti-climax.

With that in mind I got ready for an eight-course meal, hoping I would be back home and in bed by 1 a.m.

My two favorite courses:

After hours of chatter and laughter it had suddendly hit midnight and my bed was nowhere to be seen. Instead I was dragged off to Vienna’s best late night haunt for shots, champagne & dancing – (if wriggling my way across the dancefloor counts?).

We were some of the last to leave and make our way back into 2013 and I must admit from what I recall, the night had not been that much of an anti-climax.

After two hours of sleep (snoozing) we were back on our feet and put on our best smiles to have a final meal with the family…

before my sister and her boyfriend departed back to New York, my parents to Munich and myself to Manchester, sadly leaving the boy behind in Vienna.

I hope this post and the photos give you a little glimpse into my recent adventures.

For those of you who want more… I made my first little video EVER of my time in Munich and Vienna. Unfortunately, I couldn’t upload it on my Blog so check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMF0TX4wT3A
